Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
If you are a manufacturing company with less than 2000 employees, not receiving other funding, you qualify for 50% funding by CT DOL. Class size is limited.
Green Belts are Six Sigma practitioners who do process and product improvement project work. The focus of Six Sigma is to reduce and control variation and waste in our processes based on the importance to the customer and the business needs. This training makes extensive use of hands-on exercises, utilizing the project and data candidates bring to class. Students are required to have a project which may be advanced significantly during the training period through applying the newly learned techniques on their projects as well as on a final exam.

This program qualifies as the equivalent of TM490 (Advanced Six Sigma Quality). Students may receive 3 credits toward their program through the
School of Graduate Studies at CCSU.
About the Instructor- Lance Boynton:
Lance is Central Connecticut State University adjunct professor and ITBD Instructor supporting Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Training, (Lean, Green Belt and Black Belt) for organizations throughout Connecticut.
During his work in industry, Lance has served on a variety of manufacturing panels including the Corporate Leadership Advisory Council for the US Chamber of Commerce, the EPA Laboratory Accreditation System Committee and has served as an American Chemical Society expert panel member. He is currently the chair of the Northwest Connecticut Manufactures Coalition is a panel member of the ISO/REMCO review process as well as being an active member of the Torrington Economic Development Committee. Mr. Boynton has been an invited speaker for a number of manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement and leadership initiatives. Having a passion for teaching, he is currently becoming a certified Dale Carnegie instructor.
Lance has held a number of senior executive leadership positions including COO of a global adhesives manufacturing company. He was instrumental in the implementation of several programs including:
- Lean/Six Sigma,
- Quality programs including, (ISO9001, ISO14001, Sony Green Partner accreditations),
- Global Harmonized System (GHS).
These initiatives saved the organization millions while transforming the culture to one of empowerment and accountability, resulting in receiving the prestigious “Inc. Magazine’s Fastest 5000” award, an unprecedented 7 years in a row.
For the last several years, Lance has been working as a consultant helping clients become successful by creating a culture to rapidly restructure processes to make them simple and repeatable. Mr. Boynton has extensive experience in delivering custom solutions and creative, interactive training sessions including: Lean Implementation, Six Sigma Training, SPC, TWI, Environmental Compliance, Safety Compliance, Root Cause Analysis, Goal Orientation, Business Strategy Development as well as implementation solutions for ISO Guides 9001, 14001, 18001, and 17025.
